| Overview

New tags can be added, and existing tags can be edited or deleted from the Domain Modeler tool.

The Domain Modeler tool is developed as such to check for certain criteria while adding/deleting a tag. The criteria are so set up that the user is not missing any aspect during the tag addition or deletion.

The following is achieved with the check criteria set up

  • No repetitive tags are added
  • No new tag names added for the same tag
  • When tags are deleted, the tool makes sure it deletes them from all the associated points

| View Tags

From the tags home screen.

  • Click on the view icon to view any tags.

| Confirm Availability of a Tag

Before adding a new tag, From the domain modeler tags screen

  • Search for the tag you wish to add, to confirm the availability of the tag or a similar tag.

The search results are displayed

Note: The tool displays the search results, based on the keyword search in both the Tag name and Description field columns.

| Add a New Tag

To add a new tag from the domain modeler tags screen

  • Click Add Tag.

The add tag window is displayed.

  • Enter the tag name

 

Note: The tool displays a message as to what is to be added as a tag name as below

"Alphanumeric and underscores only and must begin with a lowercase letter"

When different format names are entered.

Note: The tool displays a message for a unique name to be used for the new tag.

When already existing names are entered:

  • Enter a valid Tag name
  • Enter a valid description for the tag
  • Select the haystack category the tag falls under
  • Select the data type of the Tag

  • Click Submit to add the tag.

The Tag is added to the list of tags.

Note: Only after a tag is added successfully, the tag is made available in other places for selection.

| Edit Existing Tag

To edit an existing tag from the domain modeler tags screen

  • Locate the tag to be edited
  • Click the Edit mceclip8.png icon.

A message window with the message on the tag associated with points is displayed if any.

  • Click to expand the points, to view the points the tag is associated with.

  • Click Proceed to edit the tag.

The Edit tag window is displayed.

  • Make the necessary edits.

  • Click Submit to confirm the edit

The edit gets saved.

| Delete Existing Tag

To delete an existing tag, from the domain modeler tags screen

  • Locate the tag to be deleted
  • Click the edit mceclip5.png icon.

  • Click to expand the points, to view the points the tag is associated with.

  • Click Submit to confirm the delete.

The tag gets deleted breaking its association from the point.

| Change Logs

To view the changes made to the tags.

  • Click the Change logs

The change logs window displays.

  • Click on the calendar field to select a date range, for which you want to see the change logs.

The change logs result for the selected duration displays the details of the change made to the tags library.

You can see the number of additions, deletions, and edits for the result displayed.

| Download Tags

To download the tags in the library.

  • Click Download.

You can download the tags either in JSON or CSV format.
